Wing Woman of the Week with Grace Clark

Happy New Year! I thought it would be the perfect way to kick off 2021 by introducing you all to my friend, Grace Clark, co-owner of Nutrimeals. Nutrimeals was founded in 2017 on the belief that healthy food and convenience should coexist. Since starting the company, Grace and her team have expanded beyond Calgary and even installed state-of-the-art "vending machines" where you can purchase their delicious meals during your lunch break (located in downtown Calgary). In our interview, Grace shares how life is both beautiful and challenging, how you don't need to have one clear purpose, and how remembering the good moments is more important than focusing on an ending. Continue reading to learn all about Grace!

1. What makes you happy?

My family, life partner and dog are the light of my life! I also love a good soup and sandwich combo.

2. What advice would you give your younger self?

I would tell myself to look at every challenge and struggle as a lesson that you need to learn in that moment. Trust the process, fail fast but stand back up faster. I would also tell myself that life is going to be challenging and beautiful all at the same time. Learn how to immerse yourself in every moment. 3. If you could magically solve one problem in the world, what would that be?

I would close my eyes and wish COVID-19 to magically go away! Something that has always stuck with me is that I would wish to erase the problems surrounding environmental conservation.

4. How did you find your purpose?

This question trips me up more than I would like to admit. I’ve always put a lot of pressure on myself to find my “one thing” and glorify those who have found theirs. I’ve recently noticed that reflecting on challenging situations and looking at how I responded and what actions I took helps me see what my purpose is. Did I choose to educate someone on a topic? Did I help them get to the solution? How did I feel about what I did? How can I bring that into a bigger picture to see what my purpose is? Honestly, in writing this response I think my purpose is to tell people that not knowing their purpose is okay haha!

5. What is your biggest pain point in building relationships?

I’m so grateful for all the friendships and relationships I’ve been able to create and maintain over the years! A large pain point for me when it comes to building relationships is being motivated to put in effort when I don’t feel the same effort coming from the other individual. Friendships and relationships are so important, and you want to spend your time with someone who you value and respect, and who values and respects you!

6. What have you learned from past friendships that didn't work out?

I have learned that even though things end, it’s really important to remember the moments you shared together and to still be kind to one another.

7. Who are your SHEros (AKA female heroes)?

I am super lucky to be surrounded by incredibly strong and inspiring women. My mom, sisters, and close friends continue to amaze me day after day. I couldn’t imagine my life without these badass women!

8. What podcasts/books are you listening/reading right now?

I am currently listening to Grit by Angela Duckworth. HIGHLY recommend! I also love listening to the Impact Theory podcast.
