1. What makes you happy?
I am happiest doing what I love, and that's spending time with my girls and husband, writing my heart out and supporting my soul-aligned clients with their dreams.
2. What advice would you give your younger self?
I wrote a blog about the advice I would give my younger self because I have so much I would want to share with that version of me. Most of all, I would tell her to follow her heart and her dreams and stop worrying about what everyone else thinks. I would also encourage her not to take things so personally and to stop procrastinating. Small steps create a massive transformation over time.
3. If you could magically solve one problem in the world, what would that be?
Gender inequality. It's 2021, and it breaks my heart to know that in many parts of the world, girls and women are still fighting for fundamental human rights, and even in Canada, women are getting paid less than men.
We know better, and it's time to do better for ourselves and the generations to come.
4. How did you find your purpose?
I've always known I wanted to change the world, yet I was scared to own my purpose because of the societal conditioning and my own limiting beliefs that said, Who are you to do that? One person can't change the world.
It's when I started recognizing that these words weren't my truth that my life shifted dramatically. Every time we follow our hearts and step into our zone of genius with the desire to support others, we create a positive ripple effect out into the world.
I found my purpose by doing just that. It was always my dream to be a writer so I started by working in Public Relations, blogging, then writing for online publications Like Scary Mommy and Medium. From there, I started copywriting and mindset coaching. Each step helped me realize that my purpose is to help others reach their full potential, whether that's helping their business thrive with captivating copy or creating the life of their dreams through deep-level mindset shifts.
5. What is your biggest pain point in building relationships?
I'm an introvert but also a social butterfly. I love meeting new people and creating meaningful connections. I am great in 1-1 settings or small intimate groups, but big events make me nervous. I'm all about being authentic, and I don't like any pretenses. My pain point is small talk when all I want to know when I meet someone new is what sets their soul on fire.
6. What have you learned from past friendships that didn't work out?
We are all on our own journeys. Sometimes our paths will cross, and that connection will last a long time. Other times the connection is meant to give us a lesson. The lesson is powerful. I learned that integrity, values, and kindness are important to me and something I will never compromise on in friendship. I now only allow supportive friendships with people that are committed to being real and who are compassionate, caring and thoughtful into my life. My friends, aka my soul sisters, mean the world to me, and I believe we were never meant to do this journey of life alone.
7. Who are your SHEros (AKA female heroes)?
My grandma is my SHEro because she was the most incredible woman I have ever known. She spoke her mind freely, loved me unconditionally and had so much strength and compassion. To me, she represents what it means to be a strong, powerful and beautiful woman.
My other SHEros all of the incredible moms out there that are quietly taking care of their families, homes, businesses and themselves like the incredible CEOs and bosses they are.
8. What podcasts/books are you listening/reading right now?
More Myself by Alicia Keys
The Big Leap by Gay Hendricks - Reading this a second time
9. Where can we find you?
